Weil Wins Three Euromoney Americas Women in Business Law Awards in 2018

Weil won three awards at the seventh annual Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Americas Women in Business Law Awards on June 7. The awards celebrate the achievements of firms setting the standard in terms of female-friendly work practices and women leading the field in the legal sector across the Americas.

Patent Litigation practice Co-Head Elizabeth Stotland Weiswasser was presented with the “Outstanding Practitioner” award, which is given to just one lawyer each year in recognition of her services to the law. Ms. Weiswasser is also Co-Head of the Firm’s Life Sciences practice and has been litigating patent cases in the biological and pharmaceutical spaces for more than two decades.

Weil was also honored with two Firmwide achievement awards: “Best International Firm for Pro Bono Work” and “Best International Firm for Diversity.”

Over the past year, Weil’s pro bono work had a significant impact across an array of causes and clients. Our matters spanned the spectrum of need, including human rights, criminal justice reform, civil and constitutional rights, asylum and refuge, community and economic development, and children’s welfare.

On the diversity and inclusion side, Weil remains a dedicated leader in investing in formal initiatives to cultivate an inclusive culture where all feel comfortable and encouraged to excel, continuing a longstanding commitment that is a core tenet of the Firm.

This is the second consecutive year Weil has been recognized for the “Outstanding Practitioner” award, which was awarded to Litigation partner Diane Sullivan in 2017, and is the third time the Firm has won “Best International Firm for Pro Bono Work” and “Best International Firm for Diversity” awards.
