Citizens Committee for New York City will honor Weil Restructuring partner Jeffrey Saferstein with its 2024 Joseph Smolinsky Award.

Jeff is the inaugural recipient of the accolade, named after longtime Weil Restructuring partner Joseph Smolinsky, who also served as a Director on the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Association Board and as a mentor to many attorneys.

CitizensNYC is a not-for-profit organization with the goal of “helping New Yorkers come together and improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods.” It offers direct cash micro-grants to local residents, convenes grant partners to support neighborhood improvement efforts and partners with elected officials and local government, among other programs.

Jeff will be recognized alongside Alvarez & Marsal Managing Director Brian J. Fox, recipient of the organization’s 2024 Sheila Smith Award, at CitizenNYC’s annual fall cocktail reception in New York on October 29. The event, titled, “All in for New York City,” also serves as a fundraiser for the organization.
