Corporate partner Murray Cox and Disputes & Investigations partner Hayley Lund have been named among The Lawyer’s Hot 100 which recognizes the most daring, innovative and creative lawyers from in-house, private practice and the Bar.
Murray Cox is noted for having been involved in a number of big-ticket transactions, including advising British fashion marketplace app Depop and its selling shareholders on its $1.625bn sale to Etsy, on Advent’s lapsed $8bn bid for Swedish drug manufacture Orphan Biovitrum (Sobi), and Ares Management and Goldman Sachs on their participation in Clayton Dubilier & Rice’s takeover of Morrisons, which valued the British supermarket at £10.2bn including debt.
Hayley Lund is noted to have gone from strength to strength at Weil, successfully establishing its investigations practice in London. While much of her work is confidential, it covers an incredibly wide range, including contentious employment proceedings, regulatory matters and internal investigations. Hayley’s extensive pro bono work is also mentioned as she has been advising Refuge regarding its proposed amendments to the Domestic Abuse Bill and its response to the Law Commission’s consultation on intimate image abuse. Hayley was elected partner as of 1 January 2022.
