Weil has advised British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (“BCI”), as a co-investor with funds advised by Macquarie, on the recommended cash offer for Renewi plc. The acquisition values the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Renewi plc at approximately £707 million. Renewi plc is a pure-play recycling company that focuses on extracting value from waste and is recognized as a leading waste-to-product company in the Benelux region and a European leader in advanced recycling.
This follows Weil’s advice to BCI on the recommended cash offer and financing for BBGI Global Infrastructure SA.
BCI is among the largest institutional investors in Canada, with CAD $250 billion in gross assets under management as of March 31, 2024. BCI manages a portfolio of diversified public and private market investments on behalf of its British Columbia public pension fund and institutional clients.
The Weil team was led by Private Equity partners Brendan Moylan and Murray Cox with support from counsel David McKendrick and associates Simmy Sanghera and Jamie Gillen.
