Weil’s Restructuring Department has been awarded “Sovereign Debt Restructuring of the Year” by Global Restructuring Review for advising the ad hoc committee of bondholders on Zambia’s sovereign debt restructuring. The team was also shortlisted in the same category for advising on Ukraine’s $20 billion sovereign debt restructuring.
Weil was also again highly ranked in the publication’s GRR 30, a list of “standout firms” for cross-border restructurings and insolvency.
The GRR 2024 Awards, which were held in London on November 21, celebrate the restructuring practices and individuals “that have impressed most over the past year.” The GRR 30 is based on submissions and client feedback, used to evaluate each firm’s reach, caseload and bench depth, among other factors.
