Biography
Celina Kassam is an associate in Weil’s Private Funds practice and is based in New York. Celina participates in the representation of private investment fund sponsors in the formation, structuring and negotiation of their investment funds. Celina was previously a member of Weil’s Private Equity practice where she participated in the representation of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies with respect to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
Celina has been part of the teams advising:
- Avista Capital Partners in the acquisition of WellSpring Consumer Healthcare
- Blackstone in its $300 million acquisition of a minority stake in Recurrent Ventures
- Brookfield Asset Management in the acquisition of DWS’ Private Equity Secondaries business
- CPP Investments, together with Blackstone, in the acquisition of Advarra, Inc., in a deal that implies an Advarra enterprise value of $5 billion
Celina received her J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and her B.A.SC, summa cum laude, from Oglethorpe University.
