Biography

Naz Akyol is an associate in Weil’s Antitrust practice where she focuses on antitrust disputes and complex commercial litigation in both federal and state court as well as transactional regulatory clearance and government investigations.
Naz maintains an active pro bono practice that, of late, includes working with the Center for Reproductive Rights to challenge North Dakota’s trigger ban and working with the Office of Capital and Forensic Writs to represent a client in connection with their death penalty sentencing appeal.
Naz received her J.D. from New York University School of Law where she was a Staff Editor for the Review of Law and Social Change. She received her B.A. in International Relations, magna cum lade, from Brown University.
Naz’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:
- Bio-Rad Laboratories, a global leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing a broad range of innovative products for the life science research and clinical diagnostic markets, in an antitrust probe related to its $125 million acquisition of DropWorks, a developer of a droplet-based digital PCR system designed to cost-effectively streamline the digital PCR workflow for life science research and diagnostic applications.
- Brookfield Asset Management in the $7.9 billion sale of Westinghouse Electric Company, a global leader in technologies and services to the nuclear power industry, by Brookfield Business Partners to a consortium involving Brookfield Renewable Partners and Cameco Corporation.
- Catalina Marketing Corporation in connection with its claims of anticompetitive pricing practices in restraint of trade against Quotient Technology Inc.
