Samin Mossavi

Biography

Samin Mossavi is an associate in Weil’s Securities Litigation practice group, where she focuses on defending securities class actions, shareholder derivative actions, and regulatory investigations, including those conducted by the SEC, FINRA, and FBI. Samin’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:
  • Digital Currency Group in a securities fraud class action arising from an alleged “sham transaction” that was supposedly orchestrated to hide signs of an impending loss.
  • Estée Lauder and its directors and officers in securities class action and derivative matters relating to allegedly false and misleading public statements.
  • Elanco Animal Health in securities class actions arising out of statements made regarding inventory and distribution channels.
  • Ascena Retail Group and its former CEO and CFO in federal securities class action related to a goodwill impairment charge.
  • Sleep Number Corporation, its officers and directors, in a securities class action and shareholder derivative litigation.

Samin also maintains an active pro bono practice, including working with the ACLU to ensure deaf and hard of hearing inmates have access to reasonable accommodations during their incarceration. She currently serves on the pro bono advisory board for Legal Services NYC, the largest provider of civil legal services in the country. She also serves as a mentor for the Iranian American Women Foundation.

Prior to joining Weil, Samin served as law clerk to the Hon. William B. Traxler in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She received her J.D., high honors, from Emory University School of Law, where she was executive online editor of the Emory Law Journal and a member of the Order of the Coif. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Furman University. She is fluent in Farsi.
