Building off a longstanding commitment to engage people of all backgrounds in our inclusion efforts, the Firm launched this innovative initiative in 2015 to inspire all attorneys and staff to stand up for inclusion in the workplace, community and at home. To date, over 100 individuals at the Firm across levels and offices have been granted the award.

Inclusion-in-the-Day-to-Day

The Inclusion Committee promotes Inclusion-in-the-Day-to-Day to focus on purposeful, concrete actions such as consistent mentoring and feedback practices. Tools were also developed to support respectful interactions such as a name pronunciation tool.

Firm Citizenship

In 2022, a new time record category was established that places feedback, inclusion, mentoring and recruiting on equal footing with client billable and pro bono time. In 2023, US attorneys averaged 50 hours, and overall hours increased by 97% compared to 2018.

Inclusion Programs

Weil has consistently been at the forefront of law firm inclusion programs for over two decades to foster an inclusive culture where all talent can thrive. Programs are developed specifically for Weil to provide concrete skills for achieving inclusion. Program topics have included mentoring and delivering feedback across difference and working with different generations.

Broaden and Deepen Inclusion Efforts

Weil strives to create an environment where a broad range of abilities and backgrounds are appreciated and respected.

  • Disability Inclusion & Accessibility: Weil provides opportunities for business professionals and attorneys to learn about different abilities and how they may come up in the workplace with firmwide programs for Employment Disability Month and inclusive meeting guides.
