Complex Commercial Litigation partner Arianna Scavetti has been named one of Law360’s 2023 “Rising Stars” for Sports & Betting in recognition of her expertise and accomplishments advising on complex matters.
The publication highlighted Arianna’s work advising the National Women’s Soccer League Players Association through a joint investigation of abusive coaching. As a lifelong sports fan and longtime soccer season ticket holder, Arianna told Law360 that the matter was a defining moment of her career.
The investigation led to a series of suspensions and fines as well as lifetime bans of several former coaches.
“This was a unique opportunity for the players to have a voice and a role in the transformational change that they deserve,” Arianna told Law360. “Everyone was really committed to looking for the truth, holding people accountable and shaping a better and safer league.”
Arianna explained that she is inspired and motivated by the increasing number of athletes calling for equality in sports.
“It's powerful to see these athletes advocate for themselves,” she said, “and it makes me feel more motivated to advocate for them.”
