Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf was honored with the prestigious Judge Joseph M. Proskauer Award at the UJA-Federation of New York’s Lawyers Division Annual Event, held at the Pierre Hotel on February 15th. The award – the most prestigious accolade bestowed by UJA to members of the legal profession – recognizes Barry for his outstanding professional achievement and service to the community. He joins what UJA calls its “continuing honor roll of eminent members of the legal profession.”
Governor Kathy Hochul, who served as the evening’s keynote speaker, spoke passionately about her dedication to continuing the fight against antisemitism of all types and forms. In addition to recognizing Barry, UJA honored Davis Polk partner Adam Shpeen with its annual James H. Fogelson Emerging Leadership Award for his professional accomplishments and leadership within the Jewish community.
UJA is one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the U.S. It works with a network of hundreds of nonprofits, extending its reach from New York to Israel to nearly 70 other countries around the world, touching the lives of 4.5 million people annually. Every year, UJA provides approximately $180 million in grants.
UJA members are united around the organization’s mission: “Caring for Jews everywhere and New Yorkers of all backgrounds, responding to crises close to home and far away, and shaping our Jewish future.”
