NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 13, 2025: International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that environmental lawyer Seth Kerschner has joined the Firm as a partner in the Regulatory Transactions Group, based in the New York office.
Seth concentrates his practice in the area of environmental law and assists clients with transactions, litigation, climate change, regulatory compliance, site remediation, sustainability, biodiversity and energy transition matters. He regularly advises public and private companies, governments and nonprofit organizations.
“It is our great pleasure to welcome Seth to the Firm,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “As Weil continues to take on the largest and most complex transactions, it is vital that we’re able to guide our clients with respect to their highly technical environmental requirements. Seth brings us that invaluable expertise, particularly in the energy space.”

We are delighted to welcome him to Weil.”
Seth has significant experience with all environmental aspects of traditional oil and gas, wind and solar projects, and carbon credit transactions. He also has advised developers and lenders on applying the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards to various energy and infrastructure projects. His work on energy transition matters also involves advising clients on greenhouse gas emission reduction and offset projects, and sustainability and climate change disclosure. He has successfully consummated transactions in the manufacturing, chemical, fossil fuel and renewable power, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and private equity sectors, among others.
Seth joins from White & Case LLP, where he was a partner in the New York office. His recent notable achievements include counseling a government client through several meetings of the Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, including COP21 that resulted in the Paris Agreement.
“Weil’s Regulatory Transactions Group is widely known for being the best in the business when it comes to protecting clients against environmental risk and other mission-critical aspects of their deals,” said Seth. “I’m delighted to join my new colleagues as we help our clients understand how environmental and sustainability issues impact their businesses so they can make the best informed decisions going forward.”
