Law360 Honors Weil as a 2024 “Real Estate Group of the Year”

Weil has been named among Law360’s 2024 “Real Estate Groups of the Year” for advising on some of the largest and most significant real estate deals of the year. The Firm is one of only six recognized nationwide.

Law360 recognized Weil’s work advising on the real estate aspects of several deals, including Home Depot’s $18.3 billion acquisition of SRS Distribution Inc., which it noted as one of the biggest real estate M&A deals of 2024, and Cedar Fair Entertainment’s $8 billion merger of equals with Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.

Real Estate Head Thomas Henry told the publication that collaboration among Weil’s practices has been key, including with the Mergers & Acquisitions team advising on the Home Depot/SRS transaction. Law360 noted that deal closed in just three months.

“You're not able to execute on a deal with precision in such a compressed time frame without elite coordination among practice groups,” Thomas said. “That's one of Weil's hallmarks. We are a firm without silos.”

Real Estate partner Jannelle Seales, who led the Weil Real Estate teams on both aforementioned deals and in the Firm’s representation of Brookfield Business Partners on its $8 billion sale of Westinghouse Electric, said Weil develops strong teams to execute high-profile transactions with large real estate footprints.

“Given the broad range of experience we have across all real estate disciplines, we are able to bring that expertise to the largest and most complex deals irrespective of sector,” Jannelle told Law360.

The practice group’s work advising real estate investment trust Paramount Group in recent matters involving Manhattan real estate were also highlighted.
