U.S. Antitrust Co-Head Michael Moiseyev has been featured as a Law360 Competition/Antitrust MVP, one of just six attorneys nationwide to receive the honor.
Law360 highlighted Michael’s representations of Microsoft, including leading the Weil team that served as global antitrust counsel to the company in its $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which he called the biggest deal he worked on in the past year.
"Given the size and the scope of the matter, the fact that it was a multijurisdictional effort that brought together the Weil teams in the U.K., Europe and the U.S., as well as the other jurisdictions, and the litigations that hit on all the areas of our practice, it was a terrific showcase of our work and a fascinating merger to work on," he told the publication.
His leadership in navigating Microsoft through its investment in OpenAI was also noted in the article, as was his work representing Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in an antitrust dispute with competitor Novartis.
When asked about his advice for younger attorneys, he emphasized the importance of being collaborative and learning to lean on colleagues as antitrust is “very much a team effort.”
The past year "really drove home the idea that a skilled and cohesive group of top-notch lawyers in multiple jurisdictions is really important to deliver the highest-quality results for our clients," he said.
