National Law Journal has named Weil “Litigation Department of the Year — General Litigation” at the publication’s 2024 Legal Awards, which honor “outstanding achievements, innovation, and dedication within the legal community.”

Weil’s Washington, D.C. litigators were recognized for securing massive wins in high-stakes litigation over the past year, across an impressive array of sectors, including:

  • overturning the largest-ever damages jury award in a biometric privacy case against BNSF;
  • guiding Microsoft through its acquisition of video game publisher, Activision Blizzard – the largest acquisition in Microsoft’s history – and related litigation;
  • scoring a hat trick for United Therapeutics by defeating three novel RICO and antitrust suits in two business days; and
  • securing for Washington State University the future of the Pac-12 Athletic Conference through emergency litigation all the way to the Supreme Court of Washington.

Our wins this year showcase our unparalleled range and excellence, and underscore our lead roles in some of the most complex and cutting-edge cases of this generation.

The Firm was named a finalist in the same category in 2023.

Winners were honored at the 2024 Legal Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on October 24.
