Alejandro Bascoy
Alejandro Bascoy is an associate in the Restructuring Department of Weil’s New York Office. Alejandro represents debtors, creditors, acquirers, and other participants in in- and out-of-court reorganizations.

Prior to joining Weil, Mr. Bascoy was an associate in the restructuring group of an international law firm. Mr. Bascoy received his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Duke University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  Mr. Bascoy is fluent in Spanish.

  • Carestream Dental, a global leader in digital transformation for the oral healthcare industry, with over $800 million in debt obligations, in connection with an out-of-court recapitalization transaction resulting in $525 million of new capital.
  • Avon Products, Inc., holding company of the Avon International beauty brand, and its affiliated debtors, in connection with its chapter 11 cases, with approximately $1.3 billion in funded debt and significant potential mass tort liabilities.
  • Sunlight Financial Holdings Inc. and its debtor affiliates, a leading solar financial services company, in connection with its prepackaged chapter 11 cases and acquisition by a consortium of established investors in the solar financing industry and its senior secured lender.
  • Scandinavian Airlines, a publicly traded airline based in Sweden in connection with its global restructuring and chapter 11 reorganization.
  • MediaMath Holdings Inc. and its affiliates, a leading provider of digital media trading technology and services, in connection with a comprehensive, out-of-court recapitalization transaction, through which certain existing shareholders and financial stakeholders committed to invest up to $150 million through a mix of new capital and a refinancing of existing debt.
  • Basic Energy Services, Inc., one of the nation’s largest oilfield service companies with more than 2,400 employees, in connection with its chapter 11 cases and sale of substantially all of its assets.
  • Speedcast International Limited, and its affiliates, a provider of remote communications and IT services, in their chapter 11 cases.
