Alesha Ignatius Brereton
Alesha Ignatius Brereton is an associate in Weil’s Private Equity practice and is based in Boston. Alesha participates in the representation of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies with respect to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

Alesha has been part of the teams advising:

  • Advent International in its $6.4 billion acquisition of Maxar Technologies
  • Advent International and IRCA in its $537 million acquisition of the Sweet Technology Business from Kerry Group PLC
  • Advent International in its sale of Certinia Inc. (f/k/a FinancialForce.com, Inc.)
  • Providence Equity Partners in the sale of its portfolio company Tait LLC

Alesha received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law where she was the Special Projects Editor for the American Journal of Law and Medicine and the BU Law JD Class Commencement Speaker. While in law school, she served as Treasurer for the Northeast Region of the National Black Law Students Association.

Prior to her legal career, she received a Ph.D. in Sociology from Texas A&M University, where she studied the relationship between corporate structure and decision-making. Alesha spent over a decade working in leadership within local, statewide and national gender-based violence non-profit organizations and founded a small consulting firm where she provided guidance to non-profits on program evaluation and organizational governance issues.
