
Andrew is a counsel in London. He advises on a wide-range of event-driven financings transactions, with particular experience of acting for private credit investors in respect of alternative investments and special situations opportunities.
Andrew spent one year on secondment at Sona Asset Management (UK) LLP negotiating, structuring and executing private credit and bespoke special situations transactions across the capital structure.
Representative experience as part of a team, including prior to joining Weil, includes advising:
- The Baupost Group on the financing aspects of a joint venture with KKR to purchase the Marriott UK hotel portfolio from ADIA.
- Blackstone Mortgage Trust and Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies on the financing of its $6.4 billion acquisition of the Crown Resorts luxury hotel and casino portfolio in Australia.
- Bain Capital Credit in connection with a $275 million holdco financing and related investment to support Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment’s $1.55 billion phase 1 development of the INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in the Republic of Korea.
- Smurfit Kappa Group on the financing aspects of its proposed combination with WestRock.
- VMS on a term loan financing transaction for the acquisition of the entire share capital of Coastal Force Limited in connection with a real estate development investment in Tel Aviv, Israel.
- Athyrium on its convertible loan note investment in uMotif, the patient data capture and decentralised clinical trials platform.
- The International Finance Facility for Immunisation (“IFFIm”) – part of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance – in respect of the Government of Brazil’s $20 million grant to IFFIm and its wider bond issuance programme.
- A leading global investment management firm in connection with the purchase of arbitration awards totalling over €350 million.
- Drax Group plc in connection with the £702 million acquisition of Scottish Power’s generation projects from Iberdola SA.
- North Wall Capital LLP in respect of a £45 million investment in a portfolio of global class actions.
