Andrew Clarke

Biography

Andrew Clarke is an Associate in the Restructuring Department of Weil’s New York office. Andrew represents debtors, creditors, equity holders, acquirers, sponsors and other participants in in- and out-of-court reorganizations, and has experience in domestic and complex cross border restructuring matters.

Prior to joining Weil, Andrew was a lawyer in a tier-1 restructuring practice in a top tier law firm in Sydney, Australia.  Andrew received his Bachelor of Laws (Honors) from the Australian National University where he was awarded the Dean’s Certificate for Bankruptcy and Insolvency.

Andrew is actively involved in Weil’s pro-bono practice including working with HIAS and the Sanctuary for Families in relation to immigration matters.

Andrew has been a member of teams representing various parties in a number of in-court restructurings and other matters, including:

Debtor/Company-Side Experience:

  • Mobileum, Inc., a leading global provider of telecom analytics and network solutions, in connection with its prepackaged chapter 11 cases with approximately $628 million in debt obligations.
  • Sunlight Financial Holdings Inc. and its debtor affiliates, a leading solar financial services company, in connection with its prepackaged chapter 11 cases and acquisition by a consortium of established investors in the solar financing industry and its senior secured lender.
  • Scandinavian Airlines, a publicly traded airline based in Sweden in connection with its global restructuring and chapter 11 reorganization.

Creditor/Other Experience:

  • An ad hoc group of noteholders in connection with the successful prepackaged chapter 11 cases of 2U, a global leader in online education that emerged as a privately held entity.
  • The Special Master for the United States District Court for the District of Delaware in connection with enforcing judgments for billions, designing a plan for the Court supervised sale of the shares of PDV Holding, Inc., the parent Company of CITGO Holding, Inc. CITGO is one of the largest refiners, transporters, and marketers of motor fuels, petrochemicals, and other industrial products in the United States.
