Ashley Tanaka
Ashley Tanaka is an associate in Weil’s Technology & IP Transactions practice and is based in Silicon Valley. Ashley participates in advising Firm clients in a variety of matters relating to the licensing, acquisition, development, sale, use and commercial exploitation of intellectual property and technology. She also participates in advising clients regarding privacy and data security issues in the context of corporate transactions.

Ashley has been part of teams advising on the technology and intellectual property aspects, as well as on the data privacy and cybersecurity aspects of the following matters:

  • Adair Winery, Inc. in its $85 million acquisition of Swanson Vineyards, Sonoma Coast Vineyards, Cosentino, Cherry Pie and Bar Dog brands
  • Arcosa, Inc. in its $180 million acquisition of Ameron Pole Products LLC
  • Emergent BioSolutions Inc. in its $250 million senior secured term loan facility and in its $100 million senior secured revolving facility
  • Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives and its portfolio company Omega Healthcare Management Services in an investment by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, through which Ontario Teachers’ will join Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives as co-lead investor in Omega Healthcare
  • Genstar Capital and its portfolio company Clarience Technologies, LLC in its acquisition of Swordfish Intermediate Holdings, Inc.; and Blackbird Purchaser, Inc. in a $1.01 billion unitranche credit facility
  • H.I.G. Capital in its $118 million acquisition of Quisitive Technology Solutions Inc.
  • PSG and its portfolio company Vertical Knowledge L.L.C. in its sale to Babel Street, Inc. (a portfolio company of Veritas Capital Fund Management, L.L.C.); and Trade School Software in its acquisition of Verity IQ, LLC ,777ABC, LLC and Campus Ivy LLC
  • Stripes Group and Siete Foods in Siete’s $1.2 billion sale to PepsiCo, Inc.
  • Sunoco LP in its approximately $7.3 billion acquisition of NuStar Energy L.P.

Ashley received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law where she was an Associate for the High Tech Law Journal and her B.A. from the University of British Columbia.
