Frankie J. Velez
Francisco J. Vélez is an associate in Weil’s Regulatory Transactions Group, and is based in the Washington, D.C. office. Francisco focuses his practice on international trade regulation with an emphasis on U.S. export controls, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws, economic sanctions. He counsels clients on a range of economic sanctions and export controls issues, including those arising under sanctions programs administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and the Export Administration Regulations. Francisco provides operational and transactional guidance to Fortune 500 companies, as well as small and medium-sized businesses, involving activities in virtually every major industry and country. Francisco also represents companies engaged in cross-border mergers and acquisitions before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Francisco received his J.D. from The University of Florida, Levin College of Law and his M.I.B. and B.A. from the University of Florida.
