Biography
Jacky Sin is a counsel in the Corporate Department of the Firm’s Hong Kong office. Jacky represents public and private companies and private equity sponsors in connection with transactional matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, disposals and restructurings and joint ventures. He also advises on general corporate and commercial matters.
Prior to joining Weil, Jacky worked at leading international law firms in Hong Kong, Toronto and London.
Jacky is a native Chinese speaker and is fluent in English.
Jacky’s recent representations include:
- NWS Holdings Limited (HKSE: 0659) and Unitas Capital Pte. Ltd. in the sale of Hyva, a leading global supplier of hydraulic solutions for commercial vehicle, to Jost Werke SE for $425 million (including debt)
- MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) in the $625 million capitalization, share capital structuring, and shareholders’ and management arrangements, in connection with MGM Grand Paradise, a subsidiary of MGM China Holdings Ltd. (HKSE: 2282)
- Baring Private Equity Asia (now known as EQT Private Capital Asia) in the sale of China headquartered HCP Packaging, a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of cosmetics packaging, to The Carlyle Group
- Gores Guggenheim, Inc. (NASDAQ: GGPI), a SPAC sponsored by affiliates of The Gores Group and Guggenheim Capital, in its $20 billion business combination with Polestar Performance AB, the global electric performance car company
- A Hong Kong conglomerate in its acquisition of a UK-based asset manager in the infrastructure core+ space
- TPG Capital Asia, TPG Growth and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in connection with the multi-jurisdictional restructuring of Dream Cruises Holding Limited, a premium brand, Asian-sourced passenger cruise line, and its Hong Kong-listed parent company Genting Hong Kong Limited (HKSE: 0678), involving $2.6 billion in debt and $700 million in new money
