Jake Gilbey is an associate in Weil’s Antitrust practice in London. He advises on all aspects of EU and UK competition law, including merger control, foreign subsidies, restrictive practices, market dominance and general counselling and compliance.
Jake qualified in 2024 following completion of his training contract at Weil, as part of which he completed a secondment with Weil’s Antitrust team in Washington, DC.
Representative experience as part of a team includes advising:
- ChampionX Corporation in its pending $7.8 billion sale to SLB
- The Home Depot, Inc. in its $18.25 billion acquisition of SRS Distribution Inc.
- Brookfield Renewable Partners on its joint $7.9 billion acquisition with Cameco Corporation of nuclear power plant equipment maker Westinghouse Electric Company
- Eutelsat on its $3.4 billion combination with OneWeb
