Biography
Janel Simonelli is an associate in Weil’s Private Equity practice and is based in Boston. Janel participates in the representation of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies with respect to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
Janel has been part of the teams advising:
- Advent International in the sale of Certinia Inc. (f/k/a FinancialForce.com, Inc.) to Haveli Software Management LLC
- Astorg Partners in its approximately $282 million take-private acquisition of Hamilton Thorne and simultaneous acquisition of the Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) product portfolio of Cook Medical
- Giant Eagle, Inc. in its sale of GetGo Café + Market Stores
- PSG and its portfolio company Vertical Knowledge L.L.C. in its sale to Babel Street, Inc. (a portfolio company of Veritas Capital Fund Management, L.L.C.); and in its acquisition of Loopback, LLC
Janel received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and her B.S. from Roger Williams University.
