Biography
Tom provides day-to-day counseling on labor and employment issues, serving as a trusted advisor and problem solver for a range of stakeholders, including executives and human resources professionals. He is also experienced in conducting diligence and advising on corporate transactions, with a particular focus on private equity.
As part of his employment litigation practice, Tom has represented employers in state and federal courts, and before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Federal Trade Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights, and Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, as well as in mediation and arbitration. Tom has defended clients in single plaintiff lawsuits as well as class and collective actions. His experience includes litigating claims of discrimination, harassment, claims under Title VII and state equivalents, breach of contract, fraud, restrictive covenant disputes, wage and hour issues, misclassification and more.
Tom also has experience representing clients in all aspects of labor-management relations, including collective bargaining negotiations, grievance arbitrations, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School, where he was a Senior Editor on the Boston College Law Review and a tutor for first-year law students. During law school, Tom was a judicial intern in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He earned his B.A. from Boston College.
