Weil’s Frankfurt, Munich and Brussels offices advised Alterna Capital Partners ("Alterna") on the sale of its indirectly held 40% stake in Graphit Kropfmühl GmbH to co-shareholder AMG Mining GmbH, a subsidiary of AMG Critical Materials N.V. The sale was consummated on March 12, 2025.
Weil has been advising Alterna on various legal topics in connection with its investment in Graphit Kropfmühl GmbH since 2017.
Graphit Kropfmühl GmbH extracts and refines natural graphite, processes and refines synthetic graphite, and produces dispersions, pastes and lubricant premixes in powder form. The company operates its own mine at its headquarters in Kropfmühl, Germany, and holds majority stake holdings in graphite mines in Sri Lanka.
