Biography
Jarui Wang is an associate in Weil’s Antitrust practice group, where she advises clients on the U.S. and international antitrust review processes. Jarui has experience across a diverse range of industries, including technology, pharmaceuticals, and private equity.
Prior to law school, Jarui worked at the World Bank’s Office of the Chief Economist and the International Food Policy Research Institute, conducting research and advising governments on international trade and economic policy issues. During law school, she interned at Applied Materials and the World Bank.
Jarui received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, where she served as Executive Editor of the Berkeley Journal of International Law. She also holds an M.A. in International and Development Economics from Yale University and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Bryn Mawr College.
Jarui has been part of the Weil teams advising:
- Allergan plc as both U.S. antitrust and global coordinating counsel, securing antitrust clearance in more than a dozen jurisdictions for its $63 billion sale to AbbVie Inc. as well as securing clearance for two distinct divestiture transactions involving the sale of certain Allergan assets to Nestlé S.A. and AstraZeneca plc.
- Maxim Integrated Products, Inc., a designer, developer and manufacturer of integrated circuits, in its $27.5 billion sale to Analog Devices, Inc., a designer, manufacturer and marketer of integrated circuits used in analog and digital signal processing, in a transaction that values the combined enterprise at over $68 billion. Weil served as global antitrust counsel and obtained unconditional clearance for Maxim in one of the largest and most complex antitrust deals of 2020.
- Brookfield Asset Management and affiliates in various transactions including:
- The $16 billion acquisition of Nielsen Holdings plc, a leading third-party audience measurement, data and analytics company, in partnership with other investors.
- The $8.3 billion acquisition of CDK Global Inc., a leading provider of technology services and software solutions to the automotive industry.
- The $7.9 billion sale of Westinghouse Electric Company, a global leader in technologies and services to the nuclear power industry, by Brookfield Business Partners to a consortium involving Brookfield Renewable Partners and Cameco Corporation.
- Sanofi in its $1.225 billion acquisition of Amunix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a developer of immuno-oncology technologies, as well as various licensing and collaboration agreements.
- Micron Technology, Inc., a major global supplier of advanced semiconductor systems, in the sale of its Lehi, UT fab, a semiconductor factory, to Texas Instruments, Inc. for $900 million in cash.
- RealPage, Inc., a provider of software and data analytics to the real estate industry, in its 580 million acquisition of Buildium LLC, a developer of property management software.
