Biography
Jayati Handa is an associate in Weil’s Antitrust practice, where she advises on all aspects of EU and UK competition law, including merger control, restrictive practices, market dominance and general counselling and compliance.
Jayati’s experience encompasses a broad range of industries, including banking, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, industrial gas, consumer goods, auto-parts and financial services. Prior to joining Weil, Jayati worked as a Principal Case Officer (Mergers) at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), UK where she investigated a number of complex transactions across various industries. Prior to the CMA, Jayati worked as an associate in some of the leading law firms in India, representing clients in various competition matters.
Representative experience from her previous roles includes:
- Key member of CMA case team investigating mergers relating to waste and water management systems, auto-parts and the digital sector
- Acting for Linde AG in its merger with Praxair, Inc.
- Filing a leniency application for a client involved in a global cartel in the auto-parts sector, eventually attaining a 100% exemption
- Representing clients in an alleged abuse of dominance case in the industrial gas sector
