Meagan Bellshaw
Meagan Bellshaw is a first-chair litigator and seasoned trial attorney with comprehensive experience in complex, large-scale merger investigations and antitrust litigation. As a former Assistant Chief in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Financial Services, Fintech & Banking section, Meagan oversaw the group’s civil merger and non-merger investigations and litigation. Her experience spans across diverse industries including financial services, fintech, technology, insurance, media, telecommunications, publishing, entertainment, agriculture and sports, bringing a wide range of experience to clients as they navigate today’s dynamic regulatory and private civil litigation environment.

Meagan is a highly regarded antitrust litigator and held leadership roles in a number of the Division’s most high-profile litigations, including most recently the Division’s landmark ten-week U.S. v. Google (Search) trial, where she was a member of the case leadership team. She also played a key role in other marquee litigations and investigations including U.S. v. Live Nation, U.S. v. Ticketmaster, U.S. v. Quad/Graphics, Inc., and a number of non-public investigations. Meagan’s responsibilities at the Division included developing cases, presenting them to Antitrust Division leadership, and overseeing all aspects of the litigation—from supervising the litigation teams to handling discovery, working with experts, and putting on witnesses at trial.

In addition to her litigation experience, as a trial attorney and Assistant Chief at the Division, Meagan led and oversaw in-depth investigations across a range of industries.

Meagan received regular commendation for her work at the Division, including the Attorney General’s John Marshall Award for Participation in Litigation, the Department of Justice’s highest award to attorneys, for her role as lead counsel in U.S. v. Ticketmaster.  She has twice received the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service, the Department’s second highest award, and is a seven-time recipient of the Assistant Attorney General’s Award of Distinction for both individual and team case work.

Prior to joining the Justice Department, Meagan was a litigation associate at a leading global trial firm.
