Weil advised MW Storage Fund with respect to a joint venture regarding the development, construction and operation of Germany's largest battery energy storage facility in Arzberg, Germany.
Construction of the facility will begin shortly, with operations scheduled to start at the beginning of 2025. It will have a total output of 100 MW and a total storage capacity of 200 MWh, making it one of the largest battery energy storage systems in Europe.
Further joint venture partners include Reichmuth Infrastructure, a leading Swiss asset management company for infrastructure investments in the mid-cap segment; ZENOB, a regional consortium of several municipalities for the construction of wind power and photovoltaic systems; and Bavarian local distribution system operator Bayernwerk AG, owned by E.ON.
MW Storage Fund is an investment vehicle of Swiss KMU Partners AG that was launched specifically for the battery storage power plant project.
