Joe Ehrenkrantz
Joseph Ehrenkrantz is an associate in Weil’s Antitrust group. His practice focuses on transactional regulatory clearance for mergers and acquisitions, civil antitrust litigation, and government investigations. Joe is also currently on a secondment assignment for three months, respectively, to Weil’s Brussels and London offices from April through September 2025.

Prior to joining Weil, Joe worked as a Special Assistant to the House of Representatives Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial and Administrative Law on the Investigation of Competition in Digital Markets. Additionally, Joe interned at the US Federal Trade Commission in the Mergers I division, and the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Antitrust Division.

Joe earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center where he served as Articles Editor for the Georgetown Law Technology Review. He received his B.A., cum laude, in English and in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Joe’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:

  • Advent International Corporation and its portfolio company Cobham Group Limited’s approximately $1.9 billion sale of CAES Systems Holdings, LLC to Honeywell International, Inc.
  • IQVIA in its effort to defend its proposed acquisition of Propel Media Inc., which owns DeepIntent, a healthcare advertising platform, in a federal bench trial against federal regulators.
  • The Kroger Co., in its effort to defend its proposed $24.6 billion acquisition of the Albertsons Companies, Inc, in multiple bench trials against federal and state regulators.
  • Providence Equity Partners and the Ambassador Theatre Group in its merger with Jujamcyn Theaters, the largest Broadway theatre M&A transaction in decades.
  • Meta Platforms (f/k/a Facebook) in numerous M&A related matters, including its $1 billion acquisition of Kustomer, a customer relationship management (CRM) company.
  • NJOY, Inc., in its $2.75 billion sale to Altria Group, Inc., the only pod-based e-vapor product with market authorizations from the FDA.
  • Various healthcare companies in non-public government investigations.

Joe also maintains an active and local pro bono practice where he partners with the Washington Lawyer’s Committee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties in representing incarcerated individuals in civil rights and tort litigation against the District of Columbia.
